Inspiration for this project came from ideas on other blogs and twitter as well as memories from watching episodes of Reading Rainbow as a child!
Students are searching for images from a favorite book they have recently read to use as the background. This image could be the cover, inside pages, or even a picture of the author for fun!
Finding these images to start the project helps get them ready to talk about the book and focused to write a script! Students have a real purpose for this work as they will be sharing the video on our blog and creating a QR code that will be attached to the actual book in our school library! The audience becomes real when they know their own peers could see this for years to come!
Students will use persuasive writing skills to hook the audience in so they will be intrigued to read this book! Digital tools make this project more engaging as they choose vibrant pictures and get to use their own voice to let their expression shine through!
Check back soon for some student examples as we wrap up this lesson over the next weeks!
